Dr. Cynthia D. Connelly, Professor of Nursing, received her Ph.D. from the University of Rhode Island and completed a NIDA funded postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. She is a Family Health Clinical Nurse Specialist. Dr. Connelly’s research, funding, and publications have focused on issues relevant to women and children’s health. Specific research areas include: prevention/early intervention with vulnerable populations, family violence, substance abuse, depression & anxiety, and health disparities. Dr. Connelly is also a research scientist at the National Institute of Mental Health supported Child and Adolescent Services Research Center (CASRC), San Diego. Her current NIH/NIDA supported research focuses on improving interventions for IPV, substance abuse, and affective disorders among women.
