Andrea L Hazen, Ph.D.

Dr. Andrea L. Hazen is a research scientist with the Child and Adolescent Services Research Center at Rady Children’s Hospital, adjunct professor in the Department of Psychology at San Diego State University, and adjunct associate professor in the Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science at the University of San Diego. She has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in mental health services research at the Child and Adolescent Services Research Center. Dr. Hazen’s research focuses on issues related to intimate partner violence, child maltreatment, the impact of violence and abuse on mental health, and mental health service utilization. Specific areas of interest include the effects of intimate partner violence on adult women and their children, the co-occurrence of intimate partner violence and child maltreatment, and the delivery of services for victims of intimate partner violence and their children, particularly for families involved with the child welfare system.
