Drones, International Law and the “Forever War”
The Future of U.S. Policy

SAN DIEGO, CA: On Tuesday, December 10, 2013, from 7:00-8:30 p.m., the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies at the University of San Diego will host a panel discussion on the use of drones. The event is free and open to the public.

Drone strikes have become a defining feature of the US government's global war on terror. Their continued use in what some have called a "forever war" presents complex moral, legal, policy, and political dilemmas. Panelists with military, international law and human rights expertise will explore issues around drones and how U.S. policy should be crafted going forward.

The panelists include Commander Michael J. Dobbs, United States Navy (Retired), David Glazier, Professor of Law, Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, and Laura Pitter, Senior Counterterrorism Researcher, Human Rights Watch. Kroc School of Peace Studies Assistant Professor Dustin Sharp will moderate the event.
