On Saturday, April 14, the WorldLink Program of the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice (IPJ) will host its WorldLink Workshop: "Peace Banners as a Gift to the Dalai Lama."
On April 18-19, the 14th Dalai Lama will visit San Diego for the two-day symposium, "Compassion Without Borders," hosted by the University of San Diego (USD), the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and San Diego State University (SDSU). In preparation for his visit, all interested middle and high school are invited to a workshop to design personalized peace banners. Upon the Dalai Lama's arrival to USD, the IPJ will present the banners to him, as a personal gift from each student. Nancy Young, executive director of Art Trek Inc., will lead this hands-on workshop on peace and social justice, and guide the students in creating exquisite works of art.
