The University of San Diego will host a free public lecture with Peace Scholar Paul Arthur on “The Northern Ireland Peace Process: Then and Now.” The lecture will take place on Thursday, September 16, 2010 in the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice Theater from 7 to 9 p.m.

In spite of the recent resurgence of unrest in Northern Ireland, the region has generally enjoyed over a decade of peace since the Good Friday accord. This peace was hard won and orchestrated by experienced practitioners in negotiations and peacebuilding. Paul Arthur, who was a negotiator of the accord, will share his insights on the current status of Northern Ireland and its road toward peace.
