Professors Rapp, Pulido Earn Innovative Awards
Inside USD -- Assistant Professor of Marketing Justine Rapp and Ethnic Studies Professor Alberto Lopez Pulido are recipients of two very prestigious awards, according to the Center for Educational Excellence and the Committee for Innovation in Community Engagement (CICE).
Rapp received the Innovation in Experiential Education (IEE) honor. Pulido was feted with the award for Innovation in Community Engagement (ICE).
Pulido received the ICE honor for his work on the Chicano Park Mural Documentation Project. Pulido’s work documents each of the park’s murals by producing a comprehensive map with corresponding pages describing when the mural was created and a list of contributing artists. The project was innovative for its content but also in how students, faculty, and community were interwoven as stakeholders in the project.
