Classes Resume as Scheduled Post Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan

Message

With the dawning of each new day in Japan, rescuers, experts and government officials face a plethora of new challenges. The devastating earthquake, tsunami and now the uncertainties posed by damage to the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station have left people around the world deeply concerned.

As we continue to pray for the safety of our Japanese brothers and sisters, we are also closely monitoring the ongoing tragedy in Japan. Both the US State Department and the San Diego County Office of Emergency Services are providing regular updates via their websites. USD is a member of a consortium of educators and emergency service providers in the San Diego County area, as well as the state of California, who continue to share information updates.

At this time, there is no reason to change our academic schedule. Classes will resume on Monday, March 21, as previously scheduled.

To stay informed, please visit the San Diego County Emergency website: http://www.sdcountyemergency.com/. The situation in Japan is an important reminder to be prepared for any disaster.
