Cox's Club House Gets Portrait of Late GOP Senator
Capitol Alert -- After Republican Sen. Dave Cox died last year, one of his daughters found a list of accomplishments the 72-year-old lawmaker still wanted to achieve. One item left unchecked was being honored by his alma mater, University of San Diego.
That wish became a reality on Wednesday, as family, former staff and colleagues gathered at the Capitol to unveil a portrait of Cox commissioned by the university.
"This is really terrific," his wife Maggie Cox said during a small ceremony on the Senate floor today. "He loved USD, he loved the Senate. This is perfect." (Full Story)
