WorldLink Hosts 37th Annual SD Junior Model United Nations

The WorldLink program at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice will host the 37th Annual San Diego Regional Junior Model United Nations (JMUN) Conference – the oldest JMUN Conference west of the Mississippi River.

At this student-run, two-day event, 6th through 9th graders will represent various countries in an eduational simulation of the committees that make up the United Nations, and debate on a wide range of policy topics, including the protection of migrants and refugees, sustainable agricultural development and the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. With support from the WorldLink program, the San Diego Regional JMUN Conference will host over 350 students representing eleven schools throughout San Diego County. Student leaders from Scripps Ranch High School and Patrick Henry High School serve as primary organizers.

This event is closed to the public.


WorldLink ~ Connecting Youth to Global Affairs is a unique, year-round program that provides opportunities for middle and high school youth from San Diego and Baja Mexico to meet world leaders and experts. Through WorldLink’s innovative and experiential focus on global education, students learn about issues facing us locally and internationally, and engage in thoughtful discussions about solutions in a forum where their voices are heard and valued.
