Message	The Ahlers Center for International Business presents: Ariel Casarin Associate Professor, IAE Business School, Argentina “The Challenges of the Latin American Business Environment" Monday, March 28 12 - 1:45 p.m. Lunch provided Institute for Peace & Justice, Room D Speaker Bio: Ariel Casarin holds a PhD in Economics from Warwick Business School, a MSc in Economics and Finance from the University of Warwick, and a MSc in Finance from CEMA University. He has authored academic publications in the fields of regulatory economics and industrial economics, and he has also received academic awards for his research and academic performance. Most of his research has concerned itself with regulatory economics and applied industrial organization, with a focus on applied production theory, market power and entry. He has published articles in a number of scholarly journals, including The Journal of Regulatory Economics, Energy Economics and Utilities Policy. He has also spoken to academic, industry and government audiences on regulation in Argentina, Chile, and South Africa. His professional activities relate to the application of microeconomics and finance to a range of regulatory, business, competition and public policy issues. He has served as a consultant to firms, regulators and other institutions, including the Treasury Attorney General’s Office (Argentina), the World Institute for Development Economics Research (Finland) and the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (Switzerland).
