March of the Toreros

Maher Hall to Institute for Peace & Justice
|Event Start Time||12:00 pm - 2:00 pm|
As part of the 2011 "University of Diversity Week: Call to Solidarity," the University of San Diego community will celebrate the 3rd Annual March of the Toreros on March 8.
Presented by the Torero Program Board, the march is an opportunity for students, faculty, staff and administrators to promote the Torero spirit and show an appreciation for diversity and inclusion on our campus. The march also makes it known that the University of San Diego does not tolerate hate directed toward any individual or groups in our community.
Those participating in the march will meet at the Plaza de San Diego, which is located between Maher Hall and Guadalupe Hall, at 12:15 p.m. and then march towards the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice plaza in front of La Paloma. Julie Sullivan, executive vice president and provost, and Mayte Perez-Franco, director of the United Front Multicultural Center and co-director of the Center for Diversity and Inclusion, will offer remarks during the reception of the march. Entertainment, informational booths and refreshments will be provided at the conclusion of the march.
