Before coming to University of San Diego, Patricia Márquez was a professor at IESA in Caracas, Venezuela. She was the Cisneros Scholar at the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies (DRCLAS) at Harvard University and visiting professor at Harvard Business School for the academic year 2005-2006. Patricia Marquez conducts field-based research in Latin America exploring how market mechanisms and entrepreneurship can generate greater inclusion and justice among people living in poverty. She teaches courses on Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Business and Society, Business Initiatives with the Base-of-the-Pyramid and Corporate Social Responsibility. She is widely recognized as an innovator expanding the boundaries of multidisciplinary thinking and action through field-based courses in various parts of the world such as Brazil, Uganda and Ghana.
