PPP Accounts
What Is PPP?
PPP Technical Information
PPP allows you to turn your home computer into an Internet computer. You hook up directly to the Internet, just like any other host on the Internet.
There are two ways to get PPP at USD. You have free PPP access via your e-mail username and password. If you are not satisfied with the free service, USD has negotiated a special deal with American Digital Network.
For full instructions on getting the necessary software, come into the Academic Computing offices and ask for the PPP instruction sheet.
If you already have PPP from another provider, you can use that to access your USD e-mail. Just tell your e-mail software that your pop account is username@pop.sandiego.edu, or that your pop host is pop.sandiego.edu. (students use username@students.sandiego.edu). Your return address will be username@sandiego.edu.
