Mass E-mail Guidelines
Mass E-Mail Guidelines
To send a mass e-mail to a large group such as all faculty, students (freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduates, doctoral, law), staff, or administrators who have e-mail accounts at USD (xxxx@sandiego.edu), the following guidelines apply:
- The text of the message must be approved by the Vice-President to whom the individual department or group wishing to send the message reports.
- There must be at least two full business days notice for the approved e-mailing.
- The message must be fully proofread. No "corrected versions" will be sent after the original message goes out. There are no second chances, so get it right the first time.
- The message must be in flat ASCII format. Attachments may not be sent in large scale e-mailings. The message to be sent must be e-mailed to your VP's office with the subject of the message clearly specified and the e-mail address of the individual to whom replies concerning the message should be sent.
It is the responsibility of the individual sending to message to meet the above requirements.
To whom may such mail be sent:
At present, we can differentiate faculty, staff, students, administrators and can, to some extent, refine to specific schools or college. There are some limitations.
