What is Active Directory?

Active Directory is simply an authorzation schema and identity management tool used by Microsoft. Your new AD account will be a Username and Password that you will use to log into your desktop computer and that you will use to log into your Exchange e-mail account. This is a different Username and Password than your "My San Diego" Username and Password that you previously used to log into the Mirapoint e-mail system and to the My San Diego Portal.
