Fall Semester
- DARS: Check your DARS for accuracy. As an undergraduate student, you must have a minimum of 124 total units to graduate, including 48 upper division units. Check that all of your grades and/or incomplete grades from previous semesters are posted accurately and that all transfer work appears in DARS. Confirm that your DARS is all green, and your core, major and/or minor requirements are complete or are being completed.
- Petition to Graduate Deadline: November 1 is the deadline to submit the Petition to Graduate form to the One Stop Student Center for the undergraduates who plan to participate in May 2012 Commencement. It is the student's responsibility to obtain all appropriate approvals before submittal.
- Career Services: Contact Career Services to explore career options, apply for jobs and internships, or discuss graduate programs.
- Commencement Website: If you plan to participate in the Commencement Ceremonies, review the Commencement web site.
- January 2012 Graduates: If you are a January 2012 graduate, you are set to participate in May 2012 Commencement ceremonies. Be sure to review the Commencement website to prepare for Commencement. If you have questions regarding your graduation status, contact the One Stop Student Center.
- August 2012 Graduates: If you will be an August 2012 Graduate and wish to participate in Commencement Ceremonies, you must complete your summer classes at USD Summer Session.
Spring Semester
- Grad Fest: Attend GradFest, March 14 and 15, 2012 at the USD Torero Store to order your cap and gown ($25 fee), announcements, class ring, diploma frame, and free sitting for your cap and gown portrait.
- Senior Meeting: Attend the Senior Meeting on April 3 at 12:15 p.m. at the JCP to learn about Commencement procedures and protocol and other pertinent information. Attendance is not mandatory, but it is strongly recommended.
- Cap and Gown: Pick up cap and gown at USD Torero Store beginning May 1. Late orders may be picked up on May 10.
- Name Pronunciation: If your name is difficult to pronounce, record your name at GradFest, online, or at a kiosk location. For more information visit the Graduation Pronunciation website.
- Mailing of Diplomas: Verify your address with the One Stop Student Center for the mailing of your diploma.
- Senior Survey: Complete the "Graduating Senior Survey" during your last semester. Log into MySanDiego and click on the Senior Tab. The "Graduating Senior Survey" link is in the "Senior Survey" box. You might have to scroll down to see the link.
- Commencement Tickets: Pick up Commencement tickets at the Jenny Craig Pavilion Ticket Office beginning Tuesday, May 1. Tickets must be picked up no later than Friday, May 25 by 4 p.m. Students in the undergraduate morning Arts & Sciences ceremony are allotted seven (7) tickets each. Students in the smaller undergraduate afternoon School of Business and Engineering Program ceremony are allotted eight (8) tickets each.
- Contribute to the Senior Class Legacy.
- Pay all balances on all of your accounts (including library and parking).
- Complete your Exit Loan Counseling if you received financial aid.
- Arrange a place to meet your family after your Commencement ceremony.
