The Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice (Kroc IPJ) at the University of San Diego's Kroc School is proud to launch the Building Trust Partnership Handbook and website. These resources, informed by more than 80 conversations with religious leaders, police, and community members across San Diego County, will support religious leaders as they work to strengthen relationships and build trust between communities and police.
The evening will include:
- A welcome and introduction from the Most Reverend Bishop of San Diego Robert McElroy
- An overview of the Building Trust Partnership Handbook and website
- A conversation about police-community relations and the role of religious leaders featuring:
- Bishop Cornelius Bowser, Charity Apostolic Church and the Community Assistance Support Team
- Todd Jarvis, Executive Assistant Chief of the San Diego Police Department
- Roxana Kennedy, Chief of the Chula Vista Police Department
- Pastor Jesus Sandoval, New Harvest Christian Fellowship and the Community Wrap Initiative
- Q&A with the audience
- Reception
The launch event will take place on Wednesday, January 31 at the Kroc IPJ from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.
