Join the Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice (Kroc IPJ) to celebrate the power of connected women leaders and peacemakers to effect change.
The event is the launch of the Women Waging Peace Network at the Kroc IPJ, a network of more than 1,000 women peacemakers from around the world who are called upon to serve as negotiators, experts, advocate, policymakers and in so many other roles crucially needed in peace processes.
The Women Waging Peace Network was founded by U.S. Ambassador Swanee Hunt — who will emcee the event — and developed into a preeminent global network of women leaders that it is today by Hunt Alternatives and the Institute for Inclusive Security.
Members of the network as well as Kroc IPJ Women PeaceMaker alumnae will join Ambassador Hunt in a dialogue on the most pressing issues related to women’s rights and peacebuilding across the world. Speakers include Hamsatu Allamin from Nigeria, Visaka Dharmadasa from Sri Lanka and Rosa Emilia Salamanca from Colombia (see bios here).
