What does it mean to be a children's writer today? Award-winning children's book author Dr. Virginia Loh-Hagan will explore this question and talk about her experiences writing for diverse readers and for struggling readers. She will share the trials and tribulations of writing kidlit and offer some tips. A Q&A session with the author will follow the talk.

Dr. Loh-Hagan is an author, educator and curriculum designer. Her prolific list of publications includes Popo's Lucky Chinese New Year (2016), Paper Son: Lee's Journey to America, (2013, co-authored by Helen Foster James), The Jade Dragon (2006, co-authored with Carolyn Marsden) and serial books titled Magic, Myth & Mystery and Gods and Goddesses of the Ancient World.
