Details

With expanding business operations in East Asia, many U.S. companies have entered the market during the last few decades. However, due to lack of effective market entry strategies, only a few U.S. companies have succeeded. Also, many studies have shown that in comparison to managers in other countries, U.S. managers are not well-equipped with the appropriate cultural skills and understanding of East Asian countries. It is extremely difficult to find a successful business formula in East Asia without proper market entry strategies and a clear understanding of the local market, consumers and institutions. This seminar will focus on three countries in East Asia: China, Japan and Korea, and will provide various tools and strategic frameworks that will help businesses achieve success.

This seminar occurs on two separate evenings, 6-9 p.m., on October 25 and 27

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the socio-cultural differences between the U.S. and East Asia
  • Demonstrate knowledge of effective communication with Chinese, Japanese and Korean business counterparts
  • Identify promising market opportunities in East Asian markets
  • Prepare for market entry strategies in East Asian countries
  • Differentiate between successful and unsuccessful local marketing strategies in East Asia
