An outspoken advocate of diversity and critic of Italian politics and consumer culture, Pasolini was also one of the most creative artists and intellectuals of post-war Italy. His mysterious murder in 1975 left a big gap in the Italian cultural world.

In his introduction, Dr. Iannotta will discuss Pasolini's work as filmmaker, poet, journalist, novelist, playwright, painter, actor, and all-around intellectual and public figure, in connection with his first feature film, Accattone. A Q&A will follow the screening.

About the speaker: Dr. Iannotta has published articles and book chapters on film, TV series, literature, comics, and theory of media. He is the Artistic Director of the San Diego Italian Film Festival.
