The IPJ's WorldLink Program at the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies will host the 17th Annual Youth Town Meeting (YTM), bringing over 700 middle and high school students from San Diego and Baja Mexico and more than 15 leading experts in international affairs. YTMs are grounded in the belief that youth have much to offer and much to gain from discussion with experts and professionals regarding the complexities and challenges of international affairs.
The 2014 student-selected theme is "Global Conflicts: Human Impact, Human Solutions" and will address five subtopics: Poverty and Hunger, Global Health, Environment and Land, Human Protection and Peace Processes. To read more about the topics to be discussed at the 17th YTM, please access the 2014 WorldLink Reader - an online educational tool produced entirely by WorldLink high school interns.
Unlike other WorldLink events, the YTM is by invitation only. If you are interested in learning how you can attend, please e-mail WorldLink program officer Debbie M. Martinez.
Volunteer Opportunity: The YTM is only open to middle and high school students, but the general public may volunteer. Three shifts are available (all day, morning, afternoon). Learn how to become a volunteer.
