The renowned “Miserere” series is a “monumental” group of 58 etchings the French artist Georges Rouault created in response to the unspeakable horrors of World War I.

Derrick Cartwright, director of University of San Diego Galleries and an art history professor, considers this unfinished, yet deeply moving body of work as one of the most important expressions of 20th-century printmaking.
