In April, the 14th Dalai Lama will visit San Diego for the two-day symposium, "Compassion Without Borders," hosted by the University of San Diego (USD), UC San Diego (UCSD) and San Diego State University (SDSU). The Dalai Lama is a man of peace, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his non-violent struggle for the liberation of Tibet.
In preparation for his visit, all interested middle and high school students are invited to a workshop to design personalized peace banners for the Dalai Lama. The Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice will present the student banners to His Holiness upon his arrival to USD. Nancy Young, executive director of Art Trek Inc., will lead this hands-on workshop and guide us in creating exquisite works of art.
This event is open to all interested middle and high school students.
